ICCARTON TRAINING NOTES. [by telegraph.—owx CORRESPOi"DS>~T.] Chkistchcrch, Saturday. The prospects for some specially * interesting work at Riecarton were rather spoilt by steady rain, which fell throughout Friday night. li ceased .soon after three in the morning, but it thoroughly soaked the plough, rendering it quite unfit for work of any sort. 'The grass track, however, provided good going, though "it was anything but fast. Some interesting gallops were witnessed. Prim, Martine, and Goldfinder were associated! over a mile and a-half. They maintained a solid pace throughout and finished up in 2m. 43 3-ss. Goldfinder seemed to have the best of it in the run home, and there is no doubt he is coming on fast. Los Angeles covered a similar distance alone in 2m. 42 4-55., finishing well. He- is in fine fettle, hut, of course, will have .a heavier burden to carry in the race, while the. other three would probably be carrying near their Cup burdens. Domino, went a mile fast, but none of the track watchers caught his time. He moved very freely. Outlander did a useful mile and a-quarter. Cronstadt seemed to be going better than Tannhauser, whose recent work has not been as satisfactory as could he wished. Miscount sprinted sis furlongs in good style with Formby, and is evidently well off for condition.

Goodwin Park's task was seven furlongs in lm. 35>.. but he was going easy in the early stage?. Kilosteri finished strongly in a mile gallop with Bronze.

Nightlight did a mile and a-half in 2m. 45 l-55., hut was tiring badly at the finish, while as she worked after breakfast, when the sun had dried the track, her effort was otherwise not. so (satisfactory as those of other Cup candidates that worked earlier over a similar journey. Among the Stewards' Handicap horses. Madam Madcap shaped best, being responsible for a brilliant six furlongs in lm. 175., which was easily the best gallop of the morning. Dazzling shaped well heating Colleen Mary over five lurlongs in 'ir. 5 4-ss. Bliss, Hohungatahi, J i;ll Hate, Sea King, Pilgrim's Way, and Crosbie were the other, to shape nicely in sprinting tasks up to six furlongs. while Kquitas, Nyiand, Undecided. Royal Scotch, Klpr.lrakoff, and others were restricted to lighter tasks. Query did a good mile in lm. 45 4-ss.a very useful gallop, which drew attention to his chance in the Spring Plate.Th« two-year-olds galloped down the straight on the course proper, and except for those that worked from the barrier timing was impossible. filade and Bandore shaped attractively together, as did Autumn iis and Winning Way, while Brown Owl alon« made iota of friends in the liarri ;* starts. Pawkey Lass, Canute, Scottish Star, and Bon Ton showed to most advantage.
