Jack Arnst had a- new boat built for the race with Albany. the craft being speciallydesigned .by a Putney firm. it is constructed on lines entirely new, and has an easier "bilge" than the ordinary English sculler. Tho shape is described by a practical -workman as being between a "V" and a "U." The weight is in a different position with a view to preventing tho boat from burying aft as the oarsman comes forward. Built of Honduras cedar, and named George Seifert, the boat's measurements are: —Length 25ft- 6in, width 12in, centre depth 6in, forward depth 4|in, aft depth 3£?'n, slide 29in, rigger spread, 4ft- 9Jin. wcirilt (complete with riggers) 26iUlk
