POLICE COURT NEWS.

Messrs. J. Jenkin and B. Kent, J.P. s, presided over a short sitting of the Police Court yesterday. For drunkenness Bernard Muran Gray was fined 10s and Annie Newman 10s. A large number of first offenders either forfeited their bail (£1) or were fined ss. A quarter-caste Chinaman named William Lingston was remanded on a charge of having criminally assaulted a girl under the age of 16. Bail was refused.
