LABOUR, DAT SPORTS. \ There seems to be some doubt in ilia! minds' of competitors regarding the status'.;. of the * Labour ' Day' sports. =An X intending competitor has asked if the sports are being conducted under the rules of the : New Zealand Athletic and Cycling Union. An inquiry made last evening received the official reply, that the Labour Day Sports Committee had decided to conduct the professional events under the rules of the New Zealand Athletic Union, and V the "* amateur K events ■ under, the New Zealand Amateur Athletio Association's rules. •*,> This should prove -good news to the runners registered under these bodies. The handicaps will be prepared by Messrs. F. H. Burbush and Wilson. The : entries point to a great meeting, the : nomi-:; nations being ;a i record-'/' for Labour " Day; sports, and probably the largest for any ' similar gathering; in the province in recent years. .-.,,.... - .
