NOTHCOTE SCHOOL.

The Education Board has informed the Northcote School Committee that an inspector will report upon the advisability of removing the headmaster's residence, adjoining the school, in order to augment the playground space. The chairman (Mr F. M. King) states that as the roll number is now 514 further accommodation will bo necessary in order to prevent overcrowding after the Christmas vacation and the time had arrived to press upon the Board the matter of an enlargement of the school - building. As difficulties have arisen in connection with the installation of the proposed septic tank at the school grounds, the Birkenhead and Northcote Councils are to be asked to increase their respective donations to £40 each, in order to carry the effluent drain to the sea.
