POWELKA'S ESCAPE.
Little has been heard in Auckland of lata regarding the escape of Powelka from the Terrace Gaol, Wellington, and public in-, ierest has for gome time been directed itt.y| other directions. The police in all parts of New Zealand, however, are still on tha 'look • out for the much-wanted escapee., JLast Tuesday night a vessel which had ar- f; rived at Grevrnouth during the day from Lvttelton was searched for the escaped convict, but no evidence was forthcoming that Powelka had ever been near the.'ship* .sj The police, it is stated, acted on adyic<fs| received from Lvttelton. :
