THE ELECTORAL CENSUS.
TRIALS OF .REGISTRARS. Registrars of electors in ChristchuTch are having their lives made a burden to them as the result of numerous inquiries for the new rolls. All they are able to 2 stale is that they have made application to the Department in Wellington, but so far have not been able to get anything definite or satisfactory from that quarter. Matters regarding the electoral rolls (says the Chiistchurch Press) are alleged to be in a worse state of confusion than is generally the case just before a general election, and the so-called electoral census, taken two months ago, is said to have made " confusion worse confounded."
