A MIDNIGHT ADVENTURE.

ALLEGED ROBBERY*

A sequel to an exciting chase throng® the city •; at midnight,.. culminating : in an arrest, was the. appearance of' George Edward Steel' a.t the Police' Court yesterday, before Messrs. J. S. Dickson and E. Ford, J P.'s, on a charge of breaking and; entering the dwelling of Sang Lee and: stealing articles valued at £30 3s 6d. -

The evidence -of the prosecution was that on the night of the alleged theft two men saw the accused coming from Sang Lee's place with several articles in his possession. Being suspicious, they informed the police, and after an exciting chase through several streets the man was found concealed in a garden, and was arrested.

Tlie accused pleaded not. guilty, - and was committed to the - Supreme ; Court for trial.
