[BY TELEGRAPH.—PRESS ASSOCIATION.] \ Wellington, Friday. , The examination of young men registered foX military training was completed % atHutl last night under difficulties. A pro- 1 cession, of about 300 young fellows formed at Petone, and marched to the Drill Hall at Hutt, singing, shouting, beating t cans, blowing whistles, bugles, etc. The leaders of the crowd were dressed as clowns and comedians, and carried a banner with skull and urossbones on it. A stone . was hurled through a ; skylight of the hall, and the police jiirrested a man ' who was alleged to have thrown it. Later on nearly every pane of glass in the building was similarly broken. The doors of the hall were * closed when the authorities recognised that the mob meant mischief," '■ and the young fellows called upon to submit to medical examination were admitted one by one. " ■ :.. ' . An attempt was made 'to storm the hall, but the police and Permanent Artillerymen were; able to frustrate this. . The i police were jostled , and ' some eggs were'thrown at;, them.
