. REFEREES' REUNION. ;: ' . A reunion was held by the . Auckland Hockey , Referees' Association last evening in Barber's Rooms, Queen-street, the president (Mr. F. H. Burbush) presiding "over a largo attendance 'of • members and guests. Among; tho'.- latter were Messrs.- Wm. Coleman and H. Recs George,,' president and vice-president respectively of -the Auckland Hockey Association, Mr. T. 'Gresham, _ president of t.he Ladies' Hockey Association, Mr. Menzies, : secretary of the Thames Hookey . Association, • Mr. Angus Campbell, ' president of the: Rugby • Referees' Associa- , tion, Mr. Classen, secretary of the Soccer Football Referees' Association, and Mr. Fin- \ lav of the, Lacrosse ' Umpires' Association. Tho Wednesday Hockey Association and the leading Auckland clubs also sent representatives. The evening was passed in an extremely pleasant manner. The following toast list was;honoured :—"The King." proposed, by the chairman ; " Auckland Hockey Association," proposed by Mr. E. Hay, and responded to by Messrs. W. Cowman and II: Roes George; ," Auckland Hockey Referees' Association," proposed by Mr. Nor- ! ton. and responded to by Messrs.* Burbush and Hay: ""Kindred Societies," proposed by Mr. Horspool,: and responded to ' 'by Messrs. Campbell, Classen, and Finlay; "Auckland 'Ladies' ~ Hockey Association," proposed by Mr. Murphy, and responded to by Mr. Gresham; "The Press," proposed by Mr. Baddiley. The toast list was. interspersed with , vocal, musical, and elocutionary items rendered by . the • following: — Unique Quartette (Messrs. . Abel Row©, -J. Lonergan,' Egerton Pegg, and Astlcy), Mr. Lonorgan, Egerton Pegg, ajnd Astley), Messrs Brassey, Mine Her, arid, F. .R. Mason. The accompaniments were, played by Messrs. Abel Rpwe and Fernandez. The function was brought, to a close by singing " Auld Lang Syne." ' *
