The Commission to inquire into the ventilation and methods of working in the coal and gold mines of 3 New Zealand will commence its sittings ,on August 3.-It is constituted as .follows: Mr. Evans, stipendiary. magistrate, Nelson (chairman) Messrs. F. Reed, engineer ' for mines; N. D. Cochrane, mining engineer; G. Fletcher, late mine manager for the Westport Coal Company's Millerton mines ; Molyneaux, manager of the Burwood Reefs mine; Parry, president of the Miners'' Union, Waihi j and J. D. Dawgray,: miner, Millerton.
