CLERK'S TERRIBLE REVENGE.

A 1 clerk named Schottek,- who had been dismissed from his employment for drunkenness, as a means of revenge, set fire to a huge stack of timber at the northern railway station. , . A tremendous conflagration resulted. ,The flames were fought by 600 firemen, 3000 policemen, and 2000 railwaymen for 18 hours, i They prevented the ignition of an adjacent warehouse containing . 2000 tons of benzine. -■ Timber to the value of £50,000 was destroyed; Schottek has been arrested.'. .-'
