CUSTOMS OFFICIALS EXPLAIN.
. [by . TELEGRAPH.—PRESS ASSOCIATION.] Christchurch, Tuesday. Regarding the case in which a woman, deserted by her husband in Sydney, was refused admission to New Zealand, the Customs authorities explain that the woman was ill when she reached Wellington, and her relative in Christchurch absolutely refused to make any provision, for her maintenance. Under these circumstances, the authorities had no option but to send her back to Sydney.
