GIRLS' GRAMMAR SCHOOL.
AN OLD GIRLS' ASSOCIATION. The postponed meeting of the old girls of the Grammar School was held on Saturday afternoon at the school, Howe-strce't. Tho girls were welcomed by Miss Butler, the headmistress, -who explained that the main object of the meeting was the formation of an Old Girls' Association. It was most desirable that such an association should include all girls who had been connected with the school from its earliest days, so that the present girls could reap the benefit of the tradition so essential to a school. The girls who had made its past history should, by every means in their power, help tho present girls to maintain its record. Though a school might change its house, its head. its staff, it was still the old school, and should bo regarded as such by all old pupils. If they were keen in their interest and love for the" school, they would do more for it than any advertisement or any examination successes could. After some discussion it was decided that an association of old girls should bo formed, with Miss Butler as president. A committee was elected, with Misses 'H. Spencer and I. O'Connor as secretaries, and Miss F. Kirkbrido as treasurer. This committee was authorised to consider various suggestions, and to furnish a report to another general meeting to be held on July 11.
