A WAITEMATA COURT.

SCHEME FOR NEXT YEAR'S SHOW.

A second well-attended meeting of representatives of the various local bodies, agricultural and pastoral associations, and fruitgrowers' associations within the area of the Waitemata County (including the boroughs of Devonoort, Birkenhead, and Northcote), was held on Friday last. Mr. L. jR. Phillipps, M.P., presided. '» It was resolved to energetically prosecute tho resolution of the first mee'ting, namely, "That the Waitemata district be represented by a court at the Auckland Winter Show in 1912." The question of finance was discussed, and it was decided to approach all the local bodies and agricultural and fruitgrowers' associations within the county, asking them to suliscribo to a fund for the purpose of financing a Waitemata district court, to be held at Auckland in 1912. The minimum amount required is £120. It was further resolved to include the Great Barrier and Kawait in the Waitemata area. From the enthusiasm shown at both meetings, there appears to bo no doubt that the venture will be a "pronounced success.

Tho preliminary committee comprises Messrs. L. R. Phillipps, M.P. (chairman), W. U. Timowell (acting-treasurer), representing the Wnitemata Chamber of Commerce, J. M. McCarthy (Wftitemata County Council), Dunningham (\Vautomata A. and P. Association), Wm. Handley (Devonport Borough Council), .T. B. Tonar (Northeoto Borough Council and Waitemata Fruitgrowers' Association), F. E. Powell (Albany A. and P. Association), Roller (Wade A. and P. Association), E. W. Alison, S. W. Luxford, Binstead (Puhoi), W. E. Johns (Upper Waiwera), and J. C. Webster (acting-secretary). The next meeting will bo convened for Thursday, Juno 29.
