, for Agriculture) yesterday, and in the '■ afternoon ho met the delegates to the ~ Provincial Farmers' Union Conference, at Government House, and entertained them Aji afternoon tea.

* Lady Islington presided at the meeting of the Mothers' Union at St. Matthew's ; Church last evening. This evening a ball in honour of Their Excellencies will be given at the Northern Club, commencing at 9 p.m.

On Friday evening Lord Islington will be entertained at a social evening by the ' members of the Auckland Garrison Officers' : Club.

•An "at home " for the members of the Girls' Friendly Society is to be given at Government House on Tuesday afternoon. A ball will bo given by Their Excellencies on Juno 6.
