ANTARCTIC EXPLORATION.
DR. MAWSON'S EXPEDITION.
By Telegraph.—fress Association.— London, May 12. The Daily Mail states that Sir Ernest Shackleton's appeal on behalf of Dr. Mawson's Antarctic expedition has been an immense success. Dr. Mawson's ship leaves the Thames at the end of June, and goes to Melbourne, ~ thence to Hobart, which will be the final port of departure. THE JAPANESE PARTY. Sydney, May 13. The Japanese explorers intend to again
leave for the Antarctic in three months.
