DRUDGES AND SLAVES.

WOMEN IN NEW ZEALAND.

[from our own correspondent.] London, April 7. The Rev. A. B. Lillington, one of the Anglican missioners, has given another lecture at Hull, on his experiences in New Zealand. • He gave the women of New Zealand 'a' splendid testimonial for pluck, but, generally speaking, he said they were drudges and slaves. The women had the pluck and were simply admirable. ■ A bishop had told him that the trade Unions in New Zealand inculcated a pernicious doctrine,. saying: "Don't work hard, or do too much; the less work you do the better, because there will be more work for all." It was a saying in the country, " God help the old in New Zealand," for ago was a crime.
