INDUSTRIAL INTERESTS.
HARBOUR BOARD ELECTION.
A meeting of the committee of the Auckland Industrial Association was held yesterday afternoon. Present: Messrs. B. Buttle (president), A. Bell, H. C. Clark, H. Dearsley, S. J. Harbutt, T. Hodgson and J. Wiseman.
In connection with the forthcoming municipal and Harbour Board elections, the secretary of the Auckland Employers' Association wrote urging employers to ascertain that all those eligible are on the rolls, and asking the association to return a candidate who could be depended upon to support a fair and impartial administration. It was decided that the association give its support to Mr. J- E. Taylor. '.'.-,
The association resolved to support the proposal to form a Manukau Industrial Association for the development, and protection of industrial, interests.
A pamphlet was received from Mr. Samuel Vaile on the subject .of differential rates on the railway. It was decided to invite Mr. Vaile to address the annual meeting of the association on the subject.
' The next meeting of the committee was fixed for April 11. The annual meeting will be held on April 26, and a dinner will take place prior to the business of the meeting.
