GREATER AUCKLAND WANTED.

The following is the full text of the resolution passed by the Mount Eden Council on the motion of tho Mayor (Mr. 0. Nicholson) in reference to Mr. A. M. Myers's Town-planning Bill:—"That the committee bo informed that this Council disapproves of the Bill, and is of opinion that the same should not be proceeded with; that it is further of opinion that any system of townplanning cannot be effectively carried out except by the amalgamation of all the city and suburban authorities into one municipalitya ' Creator Auckland '—and accordingly suggests that the committee be invited to submit to the local authorities a Greater Auckland scheme, on the following conditions:— That tho districts be wards of the city for a certain number of years. 2. That representation on the Council lie fixed on a proportion basis. 3. That each district bo liable for its own special rates on loans. 4. That the general rate to bo levied in the districts do not exceed Is in the £. 5. That all rates raised in each district (less the proportionate part of administration expenses) be spent in such district. 6. That all water loans of the city for water supply (except so much thereof as has been expended in the reticulation of the city) be pooled and charged against the whole of the area comprised in the Greater Auckland boundaries, and that water be supplied at one uniform price over the whole area, such price to be fixed as low as possible." It was further resolved that in view of the opinion of this Council, as above expressed, no delegates be sent to any conference on the Town-planning Bill.
