Teheran, January 24. The British Note in reply to Persia points out that the improved conditions in Southern Persia are due to the excessive severity of the winter.
It awaits the results of the Persian measures for the maintenance of order before insisting on the demands previously made for Indian officers. .
The Note adds that Britain is unable to agree to the surcharge of 10 per cent, on southern import duties, since it mainly falls on British imports, unless British officers organise the gendarmerie.
