BOUND FOR NEW ZEALAND.

" Hobart, January. 21. The s.s. Athenic, which arrived from London to-day has among her passengers 50 youths, whose ages range from 16 to 20, and who are. bound for; New Zealand farms under Mr. Sedgwick's scheme.
A -MESSAGE FROM THE KING. Our London correspondent writes that the party, before leaving London on the Athenic,"received the honour of a message from the King. Befbre_thc vessel sailed, Mr. Sedgwick telegraphed to the King the following message :—'To the King's Most Excellent Majesty, Windsor Cattle : The first party of town lads for colonial farms beg to convey to Your Majesty the expression of our most dutiful and humble devotion to your throne and person on our departure for the Dominion of New Zealand. Signed, on Behalf of , the lads, Sedgwick, hon. superintendent of party, R.M.S. Athenic." When the vessel touched at Plymouth next day, Mr. Sedgwick was handed the following reply from the King : —"The King thanks the first party of town lads who" have left the Mother Country for colonial farms for their loyal message, which His Majesty has received with much satisfaction. His Majesty wishes them every possible good" luck, and trusts they will be happy in their new homes in New Zealand, which Dominion His Majesty has himself visited, and of which he maintains the pleasantest recollections.—Arthur Bigge." ____
