A STRANDED SCOW.
LARGE TIMBER CARGO. [BY TELEGRAPH.— ASSOCIATION.], Wkstport, Saturday. Some details are now available of the stranding ,of the ,; Zingara. ■ , ,-When . the scow was being towed out of Karamea there was a slight swell on the bar and a fresh breeze. ■ The vessel : took • the ground on the North Spit, and to prevent the : steamer Mangapapa being also dragged Ashore Captain Fletcher cut the tow rope. The Mangapapa returned from Westport to. Karamea last., night with new gear, with ■ the ,- object of getting a line aboard ; the stranded vessel. ;. The Zingara is owned in Sydney, and probably is uninsured. She has 160,000 ft of -timber aboard.;.•'. - •• . J
