AQUATICS.

MANUIvAU YACHT CLUB. ' The Manukau Yacht Club sailed off the third of its scries of races on Saturday afternoon, when an event for yachts and a motor boat race were decided. Mr. W. 11. Mclntyre officiated as starter and timekeeper, assisted by Messrs. J. Gilbert and A, James. For the yacht race the starters wore:—Anahera, scratch; Elsie, 26n1.; Amua, 26m.; Petrel, 35m,; Orena, 38m. The limit boat was despatched promptly, at 2.22 p.m., and the scratch boat at three p.m. On the first round Orena passed the half-way mark at 31i. 10m. 305., followed by Petrol 3h. 17m. 305., Amoa 3h. 25m., Elsie 31i. 28m.. and Anahera 3h. 39m. 40s. From this on Orena remained in the lead, eventually finishing up the winner at 3h. 57m. Petrel was second at 4b. 14m., and then came Amua 4h. 15m. 155., Elsie 4h. 18m. 305., Anahera 41i. 21m. 345. Elsie fouled tho buoy the first time round, and was disqualified, thus losing six points for the handicap cup, The starters for the motor boat race Mildnra, scratch; Kuui, 5m.; Ngaru, 5m.; Dot, 5m.; Mildnra 11., 11m.; Kaiopoi, 15m. This race resulted in a close finish between the half-dozen contestants. Kaiopoi, the limit launch, was sent on her way at 3h. 9m.. and at half-way led, at 3h. 36m. 305., followed by Mil dura 11., 3h. 42in, Bs.; Dot, 3h. 43m.; Ngaru, 3h. 44m.; Runi. 3h. 45m. 305.; Mildura, 3b. 4Sm. At the finish Kaiopoi was first home, at 4h. 7m. 555., and then came Dot, 4h. Bm. 455.; Nrara. 4h. 9m. • 55.: ■ Bnni, 4h. 11m. 55.; Mildura, 4h. 11m. 135.; and Mildura 11., 4h. 12m. 10s.' , , The races did not attract the usual largo entries on this occasion, owing to many of the boats being down the harbour at tho ..various cam: ins resorts.
