PROVINCIAL CHAMPIONSHIPS SIN GLE-HAND ED MATCH. TOURNAMENT TERMINATES DAY. The weather was again perfect yesterday for the continuation of tlio Auckland Provincial Rowling Association's Christmas tournament. The day• was devoted to sectional play in the single-handed championship, and good progress was made on the various greens. The, sections were completed with one exception. The A section, played at, Devonjjort green, was won by Parson, of Ponsonby Club; .15 section, at Carlton green, by Osmond, of Auckland Club ; C section, at, Ponsonby green, by Ramsay, of Onehunga; D section, at Mount Eden green, resulted ;n a tie between Bell, of (Jrey Lynn, Wakcrloy, of Reeky Nook, and Haslctt, of Epsom; E section was won by Rankin, of Mount Eden; and. E section, by Eagleton, of Epsom. The .semi-finals and final will 'be played at the Onelmnga green today, play commencing at, 10 a.m. In the first round of the semi-finals the. winner of D section plays Ramsay, Parsons plays Osmond, Kagleton and •• Rankin have bye's. In the second round the winner of the first game in the first round of the semi-finals plays Rankin, and the winner of the second game plays Eagle ton.
The tournament programme will come to a conclusion this evening, and with the exception of two final games in the pairs championship, which will be played at Ponsonby green next Saturday, will bo completed according to time-table.
