Ax inteiesiing series oi avticles, contributed by Sir Robert Stout- to the llkrali>, has been published in booklet form its "Impressions and Recollections of a Visitto Europe and the United Kingdom (J. W. Kealy, Victoria-street, Auckland: printed by Wilson and Ilorton). An excellent reproduction of the Chief Justice portrait and autograph forms the frontispiece of a noticeable* little book, death' printed on good paper and paper bound in colour, with an artistic tie. the whole presenting a unique and attractive appearance. It will be remembered that Sir Jvobert til his ai tides wrote freely and characteristically of cities, churches, prophets. the politicians, and the Mouse of Commons. the poor, farming, scenery and the people. In these articles lie gave his ripened impressions, and an test recollections, the whole forming .a thoughtful survey .Mill interesting criticism of modern conditions"well worth preserving in special foini : none the less because lie tells us that : " I come back to New Zealand an optimist."
