Asked to-night whether the Government would attempt to deal with insurance against unemployment, the Prime Minister (Sir Joseph Ward) replied that it was exceedingly difficult to bring about a workable scheme, as there was no definite basis. He would not care to bring up a scheme which promised much b«t did nothing, but he was closely watching the British Government's efforts in connection with 'the problem.
