HAMILTON HORTICULTURAL SOCIETY.
THE SUMMER SHOW, [BY TELEGRAPH. — COBRESPOSDKST.] f Hi.im.To3T, Thursday. The Summer Show of the Hamilton Horticultural Society was held here to-day, and it was undoubtedly the finest exhibition yet held by the society. Sweet peas were especially fine, but the roses -were not. at the height of their beauty, tho show being somewhat late for them. Some excellent specimens were, however, shown. The show of cut flowers was far ahead of previous years, and pot plants were distinctly in advance of any collection shown in the past. Vegetables were shown in endless variety, and wero highly creditable to the district. The chief drawback to the success of the exhibit-ion was the limited accommodation in the Town Hall, which prevented any attempt at artistic display, and if the shows of the society continue to grow at the same rate some provision will have to be made for increased accommodation before next year. Financially and otherwise, the exhibition was a great success. The following are the awards :— Pot Collection of pot plants: Mr*. R. Parr, 1. Six pot plants: Mrs. A. S. Brewis, 1.
