A HEROIC MINER.

INJURED MATE SAVED. 1 By Telegraph.— Association.—Copyr'^jht. (Received November 24, 10.40 p.m.) , ; ' Perth, November 24. Two men named Brown and Young were engaged in firing shots at the 300 ft level in the Senate mine when one of the charges went off before Brown reached the ladder, and a piece of rock struck and injured him severely. His companion jumped from the ladder, and was assisting the wounded man to climb when the second shot exploded. A flying stone injured Young's hip, but in spite of his own injuries he persevered till he had placed Brown in safety. The task was made more perilous owing to a running fusillade of 13 other shots exploding beneath them. "
