exhibition OPENS TO-DAY. I "V • ■ ' I■ ' ■"• a; 810 DISPIiAY. Tag Auckland Agricoltnral and Pastoral V Association's Metropolitan Spring Show ■will be opened at Alexandra Park, Epsom, this morning. The exhibition of stock is said to be quite equal to, if not superior, to that of last year, and in all the other 5 classes, notably in raachineiy, exceptionally - fine- displays -will be made. This morning will be taken tip in judging stock, etc., and in the afternoon an attractive 'programme of riding and driving events will be provided, the principal features being the ladies' riding competitions (side-saddle and divided skirts), wire jumping, and the judging of hunters jumping me! fences. „ To-morrow will be " People's Day, and : a comprehensive programme of exceptional merit has been drawn up for the entertainment of visitors. In the morning gentlemen's driving, ladies driving, and pony ■ and tandem driving competitions will be got off. At one o'clock there will be a . parade of draught stallions, followed by a parade of light stallions, and a general parade at 1.30 p.m. Other events on the programme include competitions for prizes V f ( t the cleverest jumping horse, leading, /. i ' the best section of four mounted riflemen, Victoria Cross competition, champion lady rider, best gentleman rider, stockmen's • competition, best bareback rider, best Maori rider, the highest jumper, and the ; • best boy rider. : Given fine weather, it is expected that .then» will be record attendances both to- . . day and to-morrow, and the Tramways - Company, in view of the exceptional traffic, will provide a special car service to and ■$ • from the grounds.
