"WEST'S PICTURES. The new programme presented by "West's at the Royal Albert Hall, attracted a crowded audience last evening. Considerable interest was centred in a new picture screened for the first time here describing features of the great Eucbaristic Congress held in Montreal last September. The picture is a very good one, embracing views of Montreal and the solemn reception of Cardinal Vanntelli, the Papal Legate. Archbishops and bishops from all parts of the world are in attendance. The religious colouring and ritual solemnity is very impressive, and was well received. The same programme will bo repeated to-night. OPERA HOUSE. The Opera House wag again well attended last evening, when Fuller's pictures came in for laud applause. This week's programme is an excellent one, scenic, dramatic, and comic subjects being well balanced. The same programme will be given again this evening. JOHNSON-JEFFRIES - PICTURES. The living pictures of the fistic encounter between Johnson and Jeffries, which, was decided at Reno in July last, was witnessed for the first time in Australasia in tSe Wellington Opera House on Thursday evening last, when the MacMahon Bros, inaugurated their New Zealand tour. In addition to the fight itself, the pictures are said to be of exceptional merit,, showing as they do the parade of all the principal champions and ex-champions of America, including John L. Sullivan, Jim Gorbett, Bob Fitzsimmons, Tommy Burns, Stanley Ketchell (recently shot), Langford, Sharkey, Choynski,' Bill Lang, Battling Nelson, etc., together with the principal boxing enthusiast from all parts of the United States. All the Wellington daily newspapers, speak enthusiastically of the pictures, unanimously agreeing■■ that they are the best of the kind ever seen in the Dominion. For the past three nights: the "Wellington Opera has established: record attendances. THE AMERICAN THEATRE. Appreciative audiences .-. last night witnessed "The Girl from Arizona,"_> picture of American Indian life in the Wild. West. "Hunting the Chamois in the Alps" is another., of the several fine films presented. The comio pictures .are also exceptionally : fine. During the presentation of the pic- j tures Mr. Edward. Travis, the pianist* gave 1 an imitation, of the bagpipes, which was exceptionally fine.. | TTVOLI THEATRE. The vaudeville programme being presented at the Tivoli Theatre by HoHins's company of entertainers was -warmly received by an appreciative audience last evening. '■ The star attraction, the juggling turn of Levarto and Leon, is well supported by, the items contributed by the other members of . the company. ' On Monday next, November 28, Messrs; John Fuller and Sons will open ' their new. and luxurious .place of. amusement at the end of the penny section -in Karangahape Road, which will be known as The King's • Theatre. The theatre • will be licensed ,to seat 1800 people, and it is built on up-to-date lines, either for dramatic* or picture entertainments, and every patron can be assured pi getting an uninterrupted view of the stage. It is Messrs. John Fuller and Sons' intention, to close, the' Opera House for extensive interior improvements, and while the Opera House is closed Fuller's Pictures and orchestra will be located at I the King's Theatre, Karangahape Road. ■]■ -J Mr. George Wiiloughby's, special press representative arrived in Auckland last night by the Maheno from Sydnev, to pre-, pare for the forthcoming farcical comedy season to be inaugurated at His Majesty's Theatre on Monday, December 5 next, with "Mr- Preedy and the Countess." Miss Beatrice Day will appear in the leading role and Mr. David James will sustain the im- , portant character of Preedy. '■■' ' =' : •'
