Sherry, a miner/living 5 in Kennedy-street, who, in addition to a following the calling mentioned, keeps boarders.. According to the police, seven . men were found drinking in a bedroom, . where a five-gallon keg of beer, was on . tap, whilst in another room a partlyi consumed case of liquor and a number of - empty bottles were found. Bottles of ' beer and • glasses were discovered in a second bedroom, and-a five-gallon keg of , beer in the yard, whither it is supposed the keg was carried from the building when the police entered. ,' The liquor was seized and taken to the police station, and it is understood that ; informations alleging breaches of the Licencing. Act will be preferred against Sherry at the next sitting of the Magistrate's Court. •
