A SUCCESSFUL SALE.

The unsold sections in the Sherwood Estate, Richmond, Grey Lynn, were offered for sale yesterday by Messrs. Samuel Vatle and Sons. There was a large number of buyers, the auction room being crowded for upwards of two hours. In all 50 lots were offered and no fewer than 45 lots found purchasers, the total sum being £5158. A nine-roomed residence in Basque Road, Eden Terrace, was offered for sale by Messrs T. Mandeno Jackson yesterday. The section has a frontage of 70ft to Basque Road and of 41ft 6in to New North Road. The bidding reached £1045, at which price the property was passed in.

A number of suburban properties were : offered for sale by Messrs. Smith and Halcombe yesterday, but none were sold, the bidding failing to reach the reserve in each case. A two-storey 11-roomed house, with four acres of land, in Victoria Avenue, Remuera, known as Te Oki Oki, was passed in at £2800. For a 12-roomed house in Elizabeth-street, Ponsonby, standing on nearly three-quarters of an acre of ground, £1500 was offered. A six-roomed villa in Valley Road, Mount Eden, with a section 50 by 150, advanced to £645; whilst for a six-roomed house, with a section of 50 by 127, in King Edward-street, Mount Eden, £680 was offered. A large number of building sections in. the town of Helensville were offered for sale by auction by Messrs. T. Mandeno Jackson yesterday. Nine lots were sold at prices ranging from £10 to £26. A dairy farm in the same district, consisting of 617 acres, was offered, but failed to reach the reserve and was passed in at £6 10s an acre. Nearly 40 sections in the town of Papakura will be offered for sale for cash by auction at the Auckland Lands Office on December 16. The areas range from 34 perches to two roods nine perches, the area of the majority of the sections being one rood. The upset prices range from £10 to £40.
