BUTTER AND CHEESE EXPORTS

A BIG SHIPMENT. The completed figures in connection with the dairy produce shipment from Auckland, by the Ruahine, compare as follows with the corresponding shipment last year :—- Batter. Cheese. By Ruahine .. 20,515 boxes 448 cases Last year ... 18,459 boxes 614 cases It will be seen that in butter there is an. increase of 2056 boxes, and in cheese a decrease of 166 cases. The butter shipment by the Ruahine, it will be noted, is already not very far short of last year's record shipment (21,411 boxes) despatched about December 15. Included in the Ruahine's shipment is 154 boxes for the west of England. Southern provinces have a greater butter trade than has Auckland with the west of England, which market buys largely of second quality butter.
