CRITIC OF THE ARMY.

By Telegraph-— Association.—Copyright London, October 20. Lieutenant Alan Stjtor, who recently created a sensation by his attacks upon the British army system, has resigned from the service, and will continue his criticism of the forces. Lieutenant Sutor was in the Royal Garrison Artillery, and was stationed at Tynemouth. He published a pamphlet, attacking the army system, and entitled /'The Army System: or Why Muddle Through Thirty Millions a Year During Peace?" making allegations of ineptitude on the part of his superiors. The courtmartial which tried him decided that he should be dismissed from the service, but Mr. Haldane (Secretary for War) commuted the punishment to the administering of a severe reprimand to the offending officer.
