TRAFALGAR DAY.
NAVAL VETERANS' REUNION.
The public of Auckland allowed the anniversary of Trafalgar Day to pass yesterday without organised recognition. A few Sags were flown, on the schools and various other places tut this was the only effort made to remind the passer-by of the glorious victory. In the evening the Royal Naval and Boyal Marines' Association held their annual reunion at His Majesty's Cafe. Mr. Icos. W. Allen (president) presided over a good gathering of veterans, and an enjoyable evening was spent. After supper a number, of toasts were honoured. The chairman, in the course of his remarks. referred to the fact that since the list gathering, a year ago, none of their comrades , had passed away. - A number of musical items were rendered, a quartette, consisting of ".Messrs. Abel Eowe, J. Lonergan, E. Pegg, and A. Asbury, being responsible for a portion of the programme, while songs were sung by Messrs. J. W. Allen and A. Eowe. The cafe was appropriately decorated, a painting of Nelson standing cut prominently.
