AUSTRIA AND BRITAIN.

RENEWAL OF FRIENDSHIP.

By Telegraph.— Association.—Copyright.

(Received September 12, 10 p.m.)

Vienna, September 12. The Emperor Francis Josef on Saturday gave an audience to Lord Rosebery, who is formally announcing the accession of King George, and afterwards visited . Lord Rosebery in his apartments at the Hofberg, this being quite an unprecedented mark of Imperial favour.

Some of the newspapers remark that the selection of Lord Rosebery as the special mission accredited to Vienna alone signifies the re-estab-lishment of the traditional friendship between Britain and AustriaHungary.
