CALVE.

.Madam Cai.vp. with Signor (iasparri and M. .Jacques Piutel. arc on hoard the Winimera. which ill arrive at Auckland tomorrow from Svdnev. Mr. ,1. NevinTait. who engaged till th(eo artists during his last visit to London, is also on board., and cabled before leaving to his representative in Auckland that all were in excellent health and looking forward with the keenest pleasure to their lirst visit t-o Now Zealand. The Australian tour has been strikingly successful, immense audiences attending all the concerts and manifesting the greatest, enthusiasm. Tho two Adelaide concerts given early in the month attracted a total ;tilei)dance of 7000 people in the Kxhibition Building, which, large as it is, proved too small to accommodate all those who desired to be present. In one important respect Auckland will be more fortunate than Sydney or Adelaide, inasmuch as the scenes from grand opera, which are included in every programme, were given in those cities on bare concert platforms, whilst in Auckland they will he presented in full operatic cost tune and with appropriate scenery, so that music lovers will both see and hear the illustrious artist and Signor (iaspairi at their best. The programme for the opening conceit will include the great duel troni " < 'avalleria Rtisl icana.," which always created a pro found impression whenever .it, was presented in Australia. .Madam Calve will also sing at- the lirst concert the- fascinating "Habanera." front Carmen." a.s well as the lovelv ".Mysoli" air from the " I'earl of Hraz.il." Three concerts will be given in Auckland. namely, on Wednesday next, 2'lth, Saturdav. 27th. and Tuesday, 30th int-t.. in His Majeslv's Theatre. The plans are now open at Wildman and A rev's.
