THAT BOY FRASER.
HOW HE BEAT THE CHAMPIONS. Sometimes ; specialised ability descends uninterrupted in a . straight ■ line. So it has been in the case of tho famous New Zealand crack shot, Mr. Duncan Eraser, and his boy Allen. Duncan Eraser beat all the champions, ; and now Duncan Fraser , himself is beaten by Duncan Fraser's son. .Tho Pigeon Shooting Championship of New Zealand has resulted in fine scores for years past; but the contest at Wanganui in 1910 [will be lobg remembered. 'v. Donald Allen Fraser was loxyoars old, and ho killed 20 birds out of his 21.' Duncan Fraser came among the seconds, with 18 kills Ito his credit. It was a wonderful performance for a',: boy who " had only ; been shooting 12 months; and such a boy, coming of such a stock, may be trusted to go far. ■ .Of course, Allen Fraser, uses '■" C,A.C." Ammunition, just as his father has ; always done; but it would bo somewhat unfair to make any deduction of praise, because the youth had the advantage of peculiarly excellent ammunition,-'that, every .-competitor was at liberty to use. Old shots are obstinate, and hard to move," and only tho Frasers used the. Colonial Ammunition Company's cartridges during.this , contest. They two against tho field! ;It i was* another signal triumph for the famous" ammunition/Some day [ the [ few obstinate old : shots remaining will take note of these things. [ ..-,,,- rMeantime, Donald Allen Fraser is heartily congratulated on his magnificent win. He proves himself , the ; worthy son of■> a worthy sire. % ■ Nowhere -in the world : could ■ a. boy have fired against heavier odds; but ho won brilliantly, with ;an extra pull to spare for safety's sake. ; He carried off a [£25 gold-and-diamond medal, V a 65-guinea gun, presented by tho Colonial Ammunition Company, and £35 in cash presented by the Wanganui Gun ; Club. Ho may have bigger wins yet, but it will need a brilliant win indeed that will do him any greater credit. : Allen Fraser's achievement is a world's record for a youth- of 16. He'll make his name at Monte Carlo yet. There the finest pigeon-shots in the planet meet.
