THE ULIMAROA'S PASSAGE.

The Huddart-Parker steamer Ulimaroa, I, which arrived to-Say from Melbourne and Hobart, via the Bluff and Dunedin, bore ' practically no trace of the heavy weather i experienced by her between Hobart and H the Bluff. The account of her experiences which was telegraphed frqm Invercargill I via. stated by her officers to be greatly .exaggerated. \ She encountered a*; strong / southerly gale after leaving Hobart, which Increased on Saturday to a violent storm, I -making it • necessary to '; reduce ;. the i speed of the ship. She escaped - practically undamaged, the only outward and visible p.|aigh.of >the force of the sea being some ; damage to 'a; portion of her rail;, None of her stanchions were " bent like wire," i as was telegraphed, and at no time was I there any cause for anxiety or for passengers to don their lifebelts. '
