The Governor of Fez has been deposed and accused of extensive peculations. • His wife refused to reveal his hidden wealth, and by order of the Sultan (Mulai Hafid) was suspended by the wrists while red-hot irons were placed on her breasts and other unnameable tortures inflicted upon her.
