The policeman who arrested the Russian youth; Vosskressensky, ■ the murderer of Colonel Karpoff, chief of detectives at St. Petersburg, .in December last, has been fatally shot with revolvers by some persons whilst on night duty at Narvagate, St. Petersburg. ,"' I The police have arrested a retired colonel and two girl students on | suspicion, of being concerned in the .affair.': ' ...' x ••- _ Vosskressensky hired a flat in St. Petersburg in December last, and announced that his uncle and man servant intended visiting him. When the two visitors entered the flat a bomb exploded, killing the supposed uncle and'wounding the servant. The former proved to be Colonel Karpoff. An electric wire outside the room was connected with a bomb beneath a writing table, at which Colonel Karpoff was sitting. 'Vosskressensky was in Karooff pay as a i secret agent., but was plotting with the revolutionaries. He was arrested in the street immediately after the outrage, and, after being convicted of the murder, was executed on January 26.
