MANAWATU RACING CLUB'S AUTUMN MEETING. SECOND DAY. [BY TBI.KGRAPH.—rRESS ASSOCIATION'.] PALJIBRSTON North, Thursday. The Manawatu Racing Club was unfortunate in having most unpleasant weather for the concluding day of its autumn meeting to-day. A heavy wind was blowing early in the afternoon, and before the start for the Dominion Cup heavy rain set in and continued for some time. This made things most unpleasant for spectators and had a disastrous effect on the totalizator receipts. Fortunately the rain ceased later in the day, but the course was made heavy by the downfall and the lawns were wet and sloppy. Rut for the Powelka sensation and the unfortunate weather the meeting would have eclipsed any of the club's recent meetings, as the fields were large and the racing particularly interesting. As it was, however, though there was an increase in the gate takings, due to a curtailed circulation of complimentary tickets, the totalizator receipt* showed a falling off of £481. This was due solely to the bad weather to-day, only £6727 being invested, as against £7859 on the second day of last year's autumn meeting. The increase of the first day was, therefore, lost, and only £14,964 was put through during the meeting, as against £15,427 last year. The receipts from the bookmakers also fell off, being about £503 for the meeting—a falling off, compared' to last year's autumn meeting, of about £165. "The results are as follow:
