The, unrest •in • Thessaly (ceded by Turkey to Greece under pressure, in : 1881), which is duo to the practical serfdom of the peasants and the action of the Military League during the crisis, culminated to-day in the peasants near Larissa, the largest town of the province, attacking a train. A detachment of troops in the train fired a volley into the neasants, killing five and wounding fifteen. Numerous meetings of armed peasants are being held near Kardieza and in other parts of the district. It was cabled last week that the Military League- demanded the expropriation of landlords in Thessaly, notwithstanding treaties guaranteeing the Moslems' rights. " —-— ... ..'... .: >vV
