Scott, of the North Coast Company, is a steel twin-screw stesmer of 290 tons. She was built by Messrs, Murdoch nod MuiTar.'of O.asgow, ami has a length of 155 ft, beam of 23ft lln, and depth of 9ft 2m. '. Minimbah left the Clyde on January 1 and came out via the Sue/, Canal route. ARRIVAL OF TUB NIWARU; The Tyser liner Niwaru, Captain H. Hol'.ts, arrived from London, via/Australia early this morning, with a cargo of general merchandise, and took lip an anchorage in the stream. The steamer left London on January 26, and arrived at Melbourne on March 12. The master reports having met with verv heavy weather in the English ■■Channel. By "the time the Bay of Biscay wiu reached the Niwaru was steaming through a severe gale, her decks being constantly awash. Thence, fine weather was experienced to Las Talmas, where, contrary to the usual custom, some hours were spent in' bunkering, owing to the coal strike. The equator was crossed on February 8 ami from there to the Cape of Good Hope strong head winds and. high seas were met. 11. M.5. Hermes was passed off the Cape, and Morse signals were exchanged with her. The easting was run down on parallel 4Meg. south, in line weather. The steamer landed 3000 tons of cargo at Melbourne, and then proceeded to Sydney, where further freight was unloaded.
