YACHTING.

OTAHUHU SAILING CLUB. The second of the series of races under the auspices of the Otaliuhu Sailing Club took place on Saturday (reports : our Otahuliu correspondent), keen interest being taken ,in the proceedings by the public, who gathered in •; large numbers to watch the race. Five boats started and a stiff breeze gave them an opportunity to exhibit their seagoing qualifications. Aoma, Valkyrie, and Shamrock got away together, but Izibu and Slug lost o. good deal of time and the former gave up. The boats finished in the following order:— Shamrock, Valkyrie, and Slug. .However, on time allowance Slug takes first, prize arid Shamrock second. > i *;■

Owing to the Thistle being the only boat ready in the Class I. event, that race fell through.
