The new business done, including a special transaction with the Australian Alliance Assurance Company, exceeded £3,000,000. . The income for > the year, constituting a record, totalled £1,219,980. The expenses were £5195 less than last year, whilst interest earned was £4 14s 3d per cent., as against' £4 13s 3d during the preceding year. Their total funds amounted to nearly £6,000,000. The report was adopted, and the retiring directors re-elected. '
