(Minister for Public Works) to-night, when ; a strong, request 'was, presented that ths County Council should be, allowed to take steps to metal the main Awakino Road in anticipation of whatever grant may be available when the Public Works Estimates are passed, the Council : ; being prepared to carry on the work till grants became available. Mr. McKenzie .advised the deputation to at once have plans and specifications;- , ;&i prepared and submitted for his approval, : and expressed his willingness to assist the Council in its efforts to take advantage of the summer weather.
