WOOL SALES.

BUYERS AT AUCKLAND.

A large number of wool buyers, representing English, American, and Continental firms, have arrived at Auckland, in readiness for the opening wool sales of the season to-day. ' The rccord quantity of over 7000 bales has been attracted by the advance in the market, and it is expected that the bidding will be spirited. The sales commence at nine a.m. at the Chamber of Commerce buildings. The first catalogue to be dealt with is that of the New Zealand Loan and' Mercantile Agency Company, Limited. Alfred Buckiand and Sons will come next, followed by the Auckland Farmers' -Union, Limited, Dalgety and ' Co., Limited, and G. W. Binney and Sons.

The New Zealand Shipping Company's steamer Opawa, now; loading at Waitara, is expected to arrive at Auckland on Saturday morning. She will take wool from the sales.
