Horses: On Friday, at the Durham Yards, horses were yarded in full numbers and sold at late rates. Heavy draughts sold at from £22 to £31 10s; medium do., £15 to £27; hacks and light harness horses, £5 to £15 15s; ponies, £3 to £8 10s; gig, £11. At our monthly sale at Waiuku we had a full yarding of cattle. Dairy cows sold at from £3 10s to £7 17s 6d; heifers, £3 15s to £7 17s 6d ; backward cows, £3 to £4 2s 6d; yearlings to two years, £2 3s to £3 15s; empty cows, £2 Is to £4 '2s; heifers, £2 '3s to £2 19s; calves, 18s to £1 12s'; bulls,.£3 10s to £5 ss; beef at Newmarket rates; bay colt, £6 2s 6d; pigs, 12s 6d to 15s 6d. At the Bnrnside stock market to-day fat cattle were yarded in small numbers, and tho quality and weight, with the exception of a few extra good bullocks, were only medium. Prices opened at about last week's rates, but after a 'few pens had been sold competition became keener and prices advanced 10s per head. Best - bullocks made from £9 to £10 (extra to £11 ss); medium, £7 10s to £8 inferior, £6 to £6 ISs. Best cows and heifers, £6 to £7 (extra to £8 12s Cm!) ; medium, £5 to £5 10s; inferior, £4 5s to £4 10s. Sheep to the number of 2204 head were penned. On account of the small attendance of butchers competition was poor and prices eased 2s per head. Best wethers made from 21s to 23s (extra to 27s 6d); shorn, 14s 6d to 15s 9d; medium, 18s to 19s; shorn, 13s to 13s 9d; inferior, 15s to 16s; shorn, 12s to 12s 6d. About 600 head of lambs were yarded—the largest of the season—and prices were considerably below last week's.
